If you're looking for a peaceful break by the sea, you’ve come to the right place. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Bideford Bay Holiday Park, my cosy chalet offers a lovely sea view and a real sense of calm, just the thing for anyone who needs to switch off and recharge.
Set amongst trees with glimpses of the ocean, the park is a hidden gem along the North Devon coast. It’s a fantastic base for exploring the area, whether you're planning beach days, woodland walks or simply want to enjoy the fresh air and a slower pace of life.
You’ll be just a short drive from some of Devon’s most beautiful beaches – including Westward Ho! with its golden sands, rolling waves and big blue skies. It’s brilliant for surfing, paddling or a good old-fashioned picnic on the sand. There are plenty of surf schools around if you're keen to give it a go or watch from the shore with an ice cream in hand!
On the park itself, there are loads of activities to try – over 30 in fact – so there’s always something to do if you’re feeling energetic. But if you’d rather explore the local area, the town of Bideford is just 15 minutes away. It’s full of character, with little independent shops, riverside cafés and a rich maritime history that gives it a really lovely feel.
For those who enjoy walking or cycling, you’re in a great spot too. The Southwest Coast Path runs nearby, and the famous Tarka Trail offers miles of traffic-free paths through the countryside, ideal for dog walkers, ramblers, and anyone who loves being outdoors.
I’m Tracey. My husband and I bought the chalet back in 2019 as a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of running our pub. It quickly became our special place. After my husband sadly passed away, and with my mum now living with me as she navigates Alzheimer’s, I’ve not been able to visit as much.
So, I’ve decided to share it with others who might need a break, at an affordable price. I’d love for you to enjoy it as much as we did – whether it’s for a weekend getaway or a longer stay by the sea.
